Overdue Key Largo Photos
Archive for the ‘Photo of the Day’ Category: Monday, June 21st, 2010

I finally got the film developed from the roll I took with a disposable waterproof camera in Key Largo. My cousin, Sara, works down there in a kayak shop right on the beach and quite frankly, it’s amazing.
I was lucky enough to go on a four hour kayaking trip across the water and through the mangroves with her and one of the regular kayaking guys. Honestly, it was incredible and these photos don’t do the whole ride any justice at all. The water was crystal clear, there were thousands of little fishes under our boats the whole time, and we got to get out and go for a swim mid-way through the trip.

If I already didn’t want to move down there and try to find a job already, this makes me want to move down there even more. Don’t know where I would end up in Florida, but the beaches and weather there make me an extremely happy person.
And apologies for the awful quality of the digital images – the film ones aren’t that great either. Thanks Walmart for royally effing up my photos. I guess I should look into a waterproof point-and-shoot, eh?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010While I’m in Florida right now trying to get warm, only not really get that much warmer, I promised some Spanish Moss photos from Savannah. Here they are.
We’re going camping tomorrow and then I will most likely update after that.
And just a random photo of the swamps that I’m quickly falling in love with.

I was out at the barn the other day and took some pictures of the two new weanlings, Marvin and Molly. It took them some coaxing to actually run around and be really cute as apposed to just cute, but we finally got the shot!

Friday, December 18th, 2009I made it to St. Louis alive and well and have been hangin’ out here for a couple of days with meh friend, Kate. Because the journey was so ballin’… yes, ballin’, I felt the need to post some of my terrible travel photos from the 9 to 9 1/2 hour car ride from Rome, Georgia to St. Louis Missouri. A couple of these photos had some road-trip stories to go along with them… so here it goes. Saturday I will peacing out to head to Bowling Green, Ohio for a couple of days and there’s a possibility that there will be more travel photos in the event that there is no snow.

Nashville, Tennessee in all of it’s rainy-day and rush-hour glory. Although, the rush-hour traffic wasn’t all that bad.

Good ol’ Kentucky border.

Went from Kentucky to Missouri, Missouri to Illinois, and from Illinois back to Missouri. All of this happened within the same 15 minutes and I think I crossed the river, like… four or five times. No joke.

The second time I entered Missouri.

As soon as I crossed the bridge into Missouri again and got on the main highway… it looked like this… FOR TWO HOURS! I could actually let go of my steering wheel and stay straight -it was weird. I also filled up my gas tank around here and got treated like a movie star by some people at the station. Apparently my knock-off Louis Vuitton sun glasses and New York license plates are impressive. And apparently people from New York in southern Missouri are a rare sight. Glad I could entertain.

A diptych of one of my good friends, Lynn, that I took at an away soccer match. These two photos capture her so well I thought they just HAD to go together.
